Introduction

The 2027 International Conference on Innovative Design and Intelligent Manufacturing (IDIM 2027) will take place in Bali, Indonesia, on January 30-31, 2027. This conference aims to gather scholars, experts, and industry professionals from around the world to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in the fields of innovative design and intelligent manufacturing. The focus will be on interdisciplinary intersections, exploring how design innovation and intelligent manufacturing technologies can drive industrial progress and societal development. We look forward to sharing and discussing research findings and insights in the fields of innovative design and intelligent manufacturing, including digitization and automation in manufacturing processes, smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0, additive manufacturing and 3D printing, smart sensors and the Internet of Things (IoT), innovative design and user experience, human-machine collaboration and interfaces, sustainable manufacturing, and environmental technologies, among others. IDIM 2027 is sponsored and organized by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University of China, local co-organized by BALI DWIPA University, technical co-organized by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It was jointly organized by BINUS University (Doctoral Program of Computer Science, Indonesia), Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications of China, International Institute of Design Engineers, USA, Indian Institute of Technology, and Xiamen University of Technology of China. We invite scholars, researchers, and practitioners from various fields to submit relevant research papers. Papers should revolve around innovative design, intelligent manufacturing, and their intersections, exploring new ideas, technologies, and applications. We encourage original research and papers on technological applications. All submitted papers will undergo evaluation by 3-5 field experts, and all accepted papers will be required for oral presentations or poster displays. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

Keynote Speakers

Speaker 1
Ford Lumban Gaol

Dr. Ford Lumban Gaol is currently a Full Professor of Informatics Engineering and Information System, Bina Nusantara University. He is the Chair of Bina Nusantara University Doctorate Program in Computer Science; Dr. Ford is the Chairman of IEEE Computer Society Indonesia; the Vice Chair of IEEE Indonesia section for International and Professional Activities; the ACM Indonesia past Chapter Chair; the IIAI Indonesia Chapter Chair. Dr. Ford already involved with some project relate with Technology Alignment in some of multinational companies as well as some government projects. Dr. Ford is member of Indonesian Mathematical Society (IndoMS), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Professional, the International Association of Engineers (IAENG), and the Indonesia Society for Bioinformatics. He holds the B.Sc. in Mathematics, Master of Computer Science. and the Doctor in Computer Science from the University of Indonesia, Indonesia in 1997, 2001 and 2009, respectively.

Speaker 2
Fuqian Shi

Dr. Fuqian Shi is currently a research staff scientist at NYU Langone Health. He received the Ph.D. Degree in engineering from the College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University. He was a bioinformatics and AI scientist at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, USA and a Visiting Professor at University of Central Florida. His research interests include AI for healthcare design, biomedical engineering applications for human health and bioinformatics. Dr. Shi serves more than 60 committee board memberships of international conferences. He has published more than 140 journal articles, conference proceedings and books. He also serves as Associate Editors of Cancer Informatics, the International Journal of Ambient Computing and Intelligence, the International Journal of Rough Sets and Data Analysis, and Editor of International Journal of Medical Research. Dr. Shi is a senior member of IEEE.

Speaker 4
Nilanjan Dey

Dr. Nilanjan Dey received the B.Tech., M.Tech. in information technology from West Bengal Board of Technical University and Ph.D. degrees in electronics and telecommunication engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, in 2005, 2011, and 2015, respectively. Currently, he is a Full Professor with the Techno International New Town, Kolkata and a visiting fellow of the University of Reading, UK. He has authored over 300 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, and 40 authored books. His research interests include medical imaging and machine learning. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Ambient Computing and Intelligence, Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Technology and Society and series Co-Editor of Springer Tracts in Nature-Inspired Computing and Data-Intensive Research from Springer Nature and Advances in Ubiquitous Sensing Applications for Healthcare from Elsevier etc. He is a Fellow of IETE and member of IE, ISOC etc.

This conference aims to promote academic exchange and industry collaboration, jointly exploring new opportunities and challenges in the fields of innovative design and intelligent manufacturing. We sincerely invite your participation. The submission themes include (but are not limited to):

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit a full paper for review by October 30th, 2026. All papers must be written in English. Only original papers that have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere will be considered.The paper will be no less than 4 pages, you need to pay extra page fee if your paper is more than 8 pages, please use the Template to prepare your draft submission.
